SWAMI VIVEKANAND SHIKSHAN PRASARAK MANDAL was established in 1997 to facilitate accessible, affordable, quality and man making education that leverages the students with scholarly and professional skills, moral values and global perspective. Our college is situated on a hilly top outskirts of the city of Udgir, latur so as to provide an pleasant environment suitable for acquiring knowledge.

Sensing the fastest growing demand for nurses, we established Swami Vivekanand School of Nursing in the Year 2010 which was approved by Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and Maharashtra Nursing Council, Mumbai further upgraded to Swami Vivekanand College of Nursing in 2013 which is Affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Philosophy

We Swami Vivekanand College of Nursing faculties believe that the nursing practice encompasses provision of promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of care to people across their life span in wide variety of health care settings. We also believe that the nursing education program prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

Objectives of the Course

On completion of the Nursing program the students will be able to

Apply knowledge from physical, biological, behavioral sciences, medicine including alternative systems and nursing in providing nursing care to Individuals, families and communities.
Demonstrate understanding of lifestyle and other factors which affects health of the individuals and groups.
Provide nursing care based on the steps of nursing process in collaboration with the individuals and groups.
Demonstrate critical thinking skill in making decisions in all situations in order to provide quality care.
Utilize the latest trends and technology in providing health care.
Provide promotive, preventive and restorative health services in line with the national health policies and programs.
Practice within the framework of code of ethics and professional conduct and acceptable standards of practice within the legal boundaries.
Communicate effectively with the individuals and groups, and members of the health team in order to promote effectively interpersonal relationships and teamwork.
Demonstrate skills in teaching to individuals and groups in clinical/community heath settings.
Participate effectively as members of the health team in health care delivery system.
Demonstrate leadership and managerial skills in clinical/community health settings.
Conduct need based research studies in various settings and utilize the research findings to improve the quality of care.
